Planned Electrical Outage
Tuesday, October 7, from 8:30 am to 4 pm
North Mesa
Many North Mesa residents will be without electricity during the business day as Electric Distribution Division crews from the Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities perform work. Properties from the Broadview neighborhood east to the end of the mesa are all within the area that will be without electricity for the day. Salute to Service
Mesa Public Library and White Rock Branch Library
In preparation for National Veterans and Military Families Month, the Los Alamos Public Library invites community members who have served in the armed forces to share memories and images for inclusion in a display and slideshow during November. The deadline for submissions is October 24. More details are available on the library’s website, by emailing libweb@losalamosnm.gov, or by calling either branch — Los Alamos 505-662-8250, White Rock 505-662-8265.
Cycling in LA Survey
If you bicycle in Los Alamos County, make your voice heard on what’s going well, and what could use improvement, by taking the League of American Bicyclists Bicycle Friendly Community survey, open now through Sunday, October 5.
ACT MyRide Pilot Program Survey
Officials with Atomic City Transit would like the public’s opinions on its Saturday service pilot program through this brief survey. Even if you haven’t used the ACT Saturday service, officials would still like to hear from you. The survey is open until October 25. If you’d prefer a paper version, pick one up at the Municipal Building, Mesa Library, or White Rock Library, or request that one be mailed to you by emailing AtomicCityTranist@lacnm.us.

Youth Mental Health First Aid Training

This free course, facilitated by YMHFA-certified trainers Kristine Coblentz and Jennifer McNeel is intended to help adults recognize the signs and symptoms of a youth ages 12-18 in a mental health or substance use crisis. Register here.

This is a free training for family members who are caregivers to loved ones with dementia.
