It’s respiratory virus season and we’ve put together a list of Los Alamos medical providers and pharmacies that are offering Covid, flu, and RSV vaccines, as well as details on how to schedule an appointment, answers to your questions, and links for more information.

Boomtown will update this page weekly, or as we obtain new information.

Notes:

  • Trinity Urgent Care and Los Alamos Medical Care Clinic are not providing Covid, flu, or RSV vaccines this year.

  • The Los Alamos Public Health Office is closed until further notice.

How should I schedule?

  • Nambe Drugs

Covid and flu vaccines are available by walk-in or appointment. Appointments can be made through Nambe’s new and simplified online scheduler. You can also call 505-661-9560, option 4, to leave a message and your call should be returned within two working days. Walk-ins are available Monday through Friday 10 am to 4 pm, but wait times may vary depending on staffing.

  • Nambe Drugs is also coordinating with the Los Alamos Fire Department to deliver and administer vaccines for homebound residents. Call the number above.

  • Smith’s pharmacies (Los Alamos and White Rock)
The best way to schedule an appointment is on the Smith’s website. Walk-ins are welcome but the wait might be unpredictable.

  • MANNM (existing patients only): call to schedule, 505-661-8900

  • Children’s Clinic (existing patients only): watch for updates on their website: https://www.lachildrensclinic.com, or call to schedule 505-662-4234

FAQs:

  • Do I need a prescription from my doctor?

No. See guidance from the NMDOH.

  • Will the vaccine be covered by my insurance?

Most likely, especially if you start where you get your prescriptions filled locally. Note that BCBSNM (LANL’s insurance provider) is still not accepted at Smith’s.

  • What if I don’t have medical insurance?

The NMDOH helpline (see below) is answered by a real person who has information about regional availability.
