Last updated October 5, 2025

It’s respiratory virus season and we’ve put together a list of Los Alamos medical providers and pharmacies that are offering Covid, flu, and RSV vaccines, as well as details on how to schedule an appointment, answers to your questions, and links for more information.

Boomtown will update this page weekly, or as we obtain new information.

Notes:

  • Trinity Urgent Care and Los Alamos Medical Care Clinic are not providing Covid, flu, or RSV vaccines this year.

  • The Los Alamos Public Health Office is closed until further notice.

  • Free Covid and flu shots will be offered by BCBS during the LANL Benefits Expo (Oct. 13 – Oct. 16) from 9 am to 7 pm.

  • LAMC will be offering a free drive-thru flu shot clinic for ages 9 and older on Saturday, Oct. 18.

How should I schedule?

  • Nambe Drugs

Vaccinations are given by appointment only. The best way to schedule is through Nambe’s website. You can also call 505-661-9560, option 4, to leave a message and your call should be returned within two working days. We’ve been told that appointments are being scheduled about a month out, but more appointment slots will be opened as Nambe receives more vaccine supply.

  • Nambe Drugs is also coordinating with the Los Alamos Fire Department to deliver and administer vaccines for homebound residents. Call the number above.

  • Smith’s pharmacies (Los Alamos and White Rock)
The best way to schedule an appointment is on the Smith’s website. Walk-ins are welcome but the wait might be unpredictable.

  • MANNM (existing patients only): 505-661-8900

  • Children’s Clinic (existing patients only): 505-662-4234

FAQs:

  • Do I need a prescription from my doctor?

No. See guidance from the NMDOH.

  • Will the vaccine be covered by my insurance?

Most likely, especially if you start where you get your prescriptions filled locally. Note that BCBSNM (LANL’s insurance provider) is still not accepted at Smith’s.

  • What if I don’t have medical insurance?

The NMDOH helpline (see below) is answered by a real person who has information about regional availability.

  • When will Boomtown update this page?

Every Sunday during the fall and winter, or as we find out new information.
